Welcome to the Writing Center

Writing is a necessary component of many OCCC classes, and the Writing Center is ready to help! We help students build confidence while navigating the writing process.

We offer space for independent study and have tutors available in-person and virtually. Our center resources include computer help, document printing, Moodle assistance, and more.

In-Person Tutoring

The Writing Center philosophy is to meet students wherever they are in the writing process. Our tutors can help with any step of the essay process — from selecting a topic and creating an outline, to using sources to effective structure and formatting.

Walk-ins are welcome anytime the center is open — no appointment is required.

Online Tutoring

The Writing Center’s online tutoring service, ECHO 2.0, offers students a virtual help option. Students can sign up anytime, and a tutor will respond during business hours. Click here for more information on online tutoring.

Workshop Oppotunities

Writing Center workshops allow participants to personalize their learning experience by selecting their own workshop time, format, location and topic. Both online and in-person options are available.
