History
Program Overview
Oklahoma City Community College history students gain insight into how past civilizations and cultures evolved and how their experiences shaped values, beliefs, decisions, and traditions for centuries.
Graduates of the OCCC history program will be able to:
- Demonstrate specific content area knowledge in U.S. history.
- Effectively communicate historical knowledge.
- Effectively analyze historical evidence for significance.
- Develop knowledge and understanding of diverse perspectives and experiences.
Potential careers for history majors include archivist, historic preservationist, museum curator, educator, researcher, journalist, attorney, law enforcement official, advocate, writer/editor, librarian, paralegal, politician, librarian, paralegal, politician, and more!
