Session I (Feb. 19 @ 2:30 p.m. in Room 2G8)
Hrafnkels saga freysgoða — The Story of Hrafnkell, Frey's Priest (trans. 1882 by John
Coles)
Hrafnkell, who arrived at 15 as an original settler of Iceland, grew up a powerful
duelist and considered himself gifted by the god Freyr. After a humiliating defeat,
he must rebuild his stature.
Session II (March 4 @ 2:30 p.m. in Room 2G8)
Eiriks saga rauda — The Story of Erik the Red (trans. 1880 by J. Sephton)
Banished from Iceland, Erik journeys westward to a land he calls "Greenland." More
adventurers launch an expedition to explore the mysteries farther west in what we
called today Nova Scotia.
Session III (April 9th at 2:30 p.m. in Room 2G8)
Bandamanna saga — The Story of the Banded Men (trans. 1891 by William Morris and Eiríkr
Magnússon)
When Ofeig's son, Odd, is betrayed by his corrupt steward, Ofeig uses his cunning
and a few bribes to orchestrate justice in a series of plans-within-plans worthy of
Succession.
