Goals

The WLCC will strive to accomplish the following:

• Increase the knowledge of languages and cultures among our students, faculty, staff, and community members.
• Promote understanding and sensitivity to other cultures.
• Promote and facilitate the study of languages and cultures.
• Support opportunities for students to practice language skills.
• Provide cultural information and intercultural communication protocol to community members.
• Provide language resources to prepare people for international and global engagement.
• Support international and multilingual populations in learning English and gaining knowledge of American culture.
• Support the use of learning technologies for the study of languages and cultures.
• Connect people locally and internationally.
• Collaborate with faculty to support events that foster cultural dialogue among students and community members.
• Support students who are taking courses that focus on world cultures.
• Support awareness of travel‑enhanced courses and study‑abroad experiences for students, faculty, staff, and community members.
