Program Overview

Careers in chemistry can offer you worlds of discovery every day. At Oklahoma City Community College, you can earn an associate degree in chemistry. In this program, you’ll learn how to identify substances and how to alter their structures through chemical changes.

 

 

Upon successful completion of the Chemistry Program at Oklahoma City Community College, students will be able to:

• Demonstrate foundational knowledge of chemical principles, including atomic structure, chemical bonding, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, kinetics, and equilibrium using problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Utilize instrumentation, technology, and analytical methods commonly used in chemistry laboratories.
• Apply laboratory techniques and safe chemical handling practices to conduct experiments, collect data, and analyze results accurately.
• Communicate scientific information effectively through written laboratory reports, data presentation, and oral discussions using appropriate chemical terminology.
• Apply chemical concepts to real-world, industrial, environmental, health, and biological applications.
