Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the Chemistry Program at Oklahoma City Community College, students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate foundational knowledge of chemical principles, including atomic structure, chemical bonding, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, kinetics, and equilibrium using problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Utilize instrumentation, technology, and analytical methods commonly used in chemistry laboratories.
  • Apply laboratory techniques and safe chemical handling practices to conduct experiments, collect data, and analyze results accurately.
  • Communicate scientific information effectively through written laboratory reports, data presentation, and oral discussions using appropriate chemical terminology.
  • Apply chemical concepts to real-world, industrial, environmental, health, and biological applications.
